Rowing on the Jurassic Coast
Formed in 2007, Bridport Gig Rowing Club offers its members rowing on the stunning Jurassic coast from West Bay. We have in the region of 150 members from the age of 11 upwards, who regularly train and race in our 5 traditional Cornish pilot gigs: Our wooden boats are Beacon, Brydian, Dagger, and Blaez, plus we have one GRP boat Bucky Doo.

We have membership options for all ages and for both those new to the sport and experienced rowers. We also run a comprehensive learn to row program.

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS 2022
COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS Dorset performed extremely well against the counties of Cornwall and Devon and held its own against the other participants (Bristol, Somerset and East).

What a storm of activity! Passion and technique combined to create something memorable. Bridport BGRC definitely did ‘Burn Water.’
BGRC ROW THEIR HEARTS OUT AT RAME!
27 BGRC squad members took part. Between them competing in a total of nine races. The annual Rame Gig Club Regatta on the Rame Peninsula, with racing off Cawsand Beach was held on 13 July. The Regatta is a popular one; well attended by clubs across the Southwest. This year 24 gig clubs took part, including one from Kent.
