Head of the Dart – Saturday April 12th 2025

This event is mainly for slidy-seat rowers, but a few gigs also take part every year. The row is 15km down the River Dart, from Totnes to Dartmouth, a very lovely stretch of water with interesting bird life, wooded river valleys, and sometimes a seal or two.
Costs: The entrance fee for 2025 is yet to be announced but last year was £20 per rower, free for cox. Travel costs to Totnes and car parking extra.
As the launch and retrieve points are not the same (around 13 miles apart), it is very important to have a tower who is not also a cox/rower. The other option is to borrow a gig from another club – this is not always possible and typically increases costs pp to around £45.
