Bembridge Gig Fest– June 14th and 15th 2025

This takes place in Bembridge, Isle of Wight. It’s a small festival – last year there were 9 boats competing, 7 of them Cornish Pilot Gigs (from various SE clubs including Langstone, Yarmouth and Affinity) and 2 Burlesdon Gigs.
Here is description from their website: ‘An event for Gigs, Galleys and all types of traditional fixed seat rowing boats – organised by Bembridge Harbour Authority and Yarmouth Gig Rowing Club. On the water support provided by Brading Haven Yacht Club.
Informal racing takes the form of 2km straight line sprints on Saturday, and head-style timed racing round St Helens Fort on Sunday for Mixed, Ladies and Open classes.
There’s a social gathering on Saturday evening at the Duver Marina – with the Duver Cafe cooking up a feast, Steve’s Barquenching thirsts, and live music from fabulous Island band The Lazerhearts.’
Costs: entry fees not available yet. Costs will include ferry fees (including gig), accommodation and likely to include at least £15 per night berthing fees
