Everyone had a fantastic day’s rowing in the competitive categories in the morning and then the “mix-up” racing in the afternoon with randomly drawn crews. Overall, Dorset performed extremely well against the counties of Cornwall and Devon and held its own against the other participants (Bristol, Somerset and East).
Results were as follows:
Mens Supervets – 1st Cornwall, 2nd East, 3rd Devon, 4th Dorset
Women’s Under 25s – 1st Cornwall, 2nd Devon
Men’s Vets – 1st Cornwall, 2nd Devon, 3rd Dorset, 4th Bristol, 5th East (with Dorset losing a key member to Covid that morning and a rower from the Supervet crew standing-in)
Women’s Open – 1st Cornwall, 2nd Bristol, 3rd Dorset, 4th Devon, 5th Somerset
Mens Open – 1st Cornwall, 2nd Devon, 3rd Bristol, 4th Somerset, 5th Dorset (with the Dorset crew being the Men’s Vets crew entering the Open race at the last minute; beaten by Somerset for 4th by 6 inches)
Women’s Vets – 1st Cornwall, 2nd Devon, 3rd Bristol, 4th Dorset, 5th Somerset
Men’s Under 25’s – 1st Cornwall, 2nd Devon
Women’s Super Vets – 1st Cornwall, 2nd Devon, 3rd Dorset, 4th East
Congratulations to all those taking part in a brilliant event.
