Well done to all the rowers, towers, drivers and organisers who worked so hard to get back on the water and racing at the ever-popular Swanage regatta last weekend.
The day started in the best possible way, with a win for our ladies supervet team. Congratulations to Rachel Hamblett, Rachel Maltby, Cara Jenkins, Carol Marsh, Debbs, Liz Blanchard and cox Jason Matthews!
Next out in lovely Brydian were the mixed crew – who’d had little (perhaps 1) training session together, but put in a very creditable performance in a competitive race. Rachel Maltby coxed, with Lucy Nightingale, Lis Harden, Jason Carpenter, Shayne Ackerman, Gigger Jimmer and Cara Jenkins.
Debbs as cox got the men off to a flying start, and they finished in a blanket finish for 3rd place. Well done to Wreford Miles, Gigger Jimmer, Jason Matthews, Shayne Ackerman, Finn Brice and Jason Carpenter
Our final team out was the ladies, coxed by Jason Matthews, with Rachel Hamblett, Rachel Maltby, Lucy Nightingale, Carol Marsh, Gigger Debbs and Liz, who were beaten by just half a second by Langstone – what a great finish!
